The Surrogates - Final Scene - CG smoke

Fusion CI Studios created & rendered car-fire smoke for Brickyard Filmworks in Boston for Touchstone's "The Surrogates."
Six hero smoke plumes were created by Fusion using Maya fluids and rendered using Mental Ray. The plumes were given an exaggerated height to increase the 3-dimensionality of this overfly style shot. It was tricky to get the scale looking right, as in the amount of detail in the smoke to make it look like big plumes, rather than smoke from a match or a campfire.
