  • @bakedaddy747 So in other words, he should just stop drumming? Because use of cymbals and ghost notes are part of the craft if you wish to use them and he did. You may not like his style sunshine but he has influenced a whole generation of drummers. Cameron is superb but better suited to Soundgarden which luckily enough have refomed. Read Modern Drummer: December 1993 about Dave Abbruzzese if you wish to critique him, that explains his style and choice as to why he uses cymbals.

  • Dave, you and Dave Krusen both rocked PJ! The rest can go home. You dont know how many times I've watched your DW promo interview with you playing "Even Flow". UN-FREAKING-BELIEVEABLE! (wish I could get it in standard/high res). I'm 48 and started drumming about 1-1/2 yrs ago. I still suck, but have fun with it, and I guess that's what counts! Keep slammin' the skins, Dave, and thanks for the videos!

  • Dave was the best drummer for Pearl Jam's best cuts....ever. Just listen to the original or live version of "Even Flow" or "Jeremy". No comparison. Abbruzzese was "fired" by mister egomaniac Eddie "the drunk" Vedder because Dave was getting a TON of drum press and endorsements. It was all jealous ego ...period. Eddy said "Pearl Jam's not about selling out." wah, wah, wah... Right Ed. It's good thing you did at least a little "selling out" yourself to afford your rehabs ya stinkin drunk.

  • @jocorocket i have that book ive just never finished it. i think ill get back to it

  • You guys should read the book 5 against 1. Dave was fired because of personality conflicts w/ Jeff and Ed. Particuliary Ed, who just didn't like Dave for whatever reason. Dave was devestated and shocked when he was fired. I don't think it was style as much as his personality. Because look at how much Matt uses his cymbals. Although they do have different styles. Great drummers though!

  • Fact is Dave is the man! Like others have posted this band hasnt been the same since... Look at the boring drummers of the time. Bands like Winger, BonJovi, and the other same cookie cutter drummers doing the same BS.. Dave had spirt and it showed in his style.. He is the only drum in the last 20 years I can hear a couple notes of and know who it is..

  • @itaintlikethat90 naa, itaintlike that either chief...

  • Si soñar no cuesta nada, entonces que Matt se quede en SOUNDGARDEN y que Dave regrese a PEARL JAM.

  • @bakedaddy747 you have your facts all mixed up. i'm not saying i'm a close friend of Eddie's but he and Jeff Ament are friends of family. Dave was fired, but he left willingly because he didn't like the way Pearl Jam's style was progressing on Vitalogy and he wanted nothing to do with their feud with Ticketmaster - he wanted to work with Ticketmaster and Pearl Jam (rightly) wanted to fight them. He has found plenty of work since then. It's obvious you don't like him, but maybe you're jealous?
