ouse_id=4430 , what mammals do is lactate. Whether they do that through breasts or through skin pores is the next clade down. -

@00GreyEyedGirl00: They aren't mammals, they're monotremes. They and the echidnas are all that is left of the branch, whiich is closely related to mammals and marsupials.

@LastChanceHere: All animals are in mid-evolution; they are almost always in transition going from one species to another. Certainly the platypus is in transition, and in a few million years we may see what it is, but that too will be changing...
