Creating a Manga Page 1

Alright~. So I thought I'd record myself making a manga page. Not very instructional, it's more for show. Here's the first step: Drawing the ugly sketch onto a blank page.

It's... Pretty bad looking, I know. Embarassing. Not even the music can make it more exciting . ^ . It will look a lot better once I draw the 'ink' over the top in the next step.

I'm drawing this from a thumbnail I scribbled onto paper beforehand. I suppose this is sort of the second step?

This is drawn in photoshop 7. Very vintage~.

When creating a manga page in PhotoShop, does the program come with the manga layout or do you have to draw the lines yourself?

@zutara243 All the lines and the template are self made. : ] I think Manga Studio has an application which will draw them for you, but Comicworks might too, I'm not entirely sure. Not with Photoshop, though.

@LordTerrantos Hey, writing from my new account since I forgot the password for this one. No, you don't need photoshop, but it's just what I prefer to use. : ] Free programs like GIMP have capabilities for pattern screentones too, try looking up tutorials on making manga pages in GIMP. (I'm not much fond of GIMP, but it's free~.)
