@ClassyMarching14 Going through hardship together, with your pledge brothers, or other hazees creates a sense of brotherhood between you. It unites you. Ever had a brother or sister, and been grounded together, or dealt with something together? Isn't that part of why you're so close, cause you go through things that are hard together?
That's why it fucking brings together brotherhood. That said, hazing violently isn't okay after a certain point.

Honestly, until you cross your section, you wouldn't understand. This video was straight but it covered every absolute aspect of it. I promise you you wont hear a story about this at Texas A&M or UT Austin. Hazing, by definition of the word in your student handbooks (which you'd have if you went to/been to college for at least a semester), goes on in every band HBCU, PWI, or HSI. Get at me. honestly yall stupid arguing over things like this no matter what it is or how much you love it being abused for the love of something is inexcusable its just like being beaten by your husband or wife it should not happen. I love band with everything in my heart but ill be damned before i let someone put they hands on me becuz they think they are superior it just aint gon happen. i dont put up with it so if i get to JSU n they pull sum shit like that on me..Its on and poppin nigga dnt play...

Honestly, I was in the Sonic Boom from 88-89 in the trombone section and I don't EVER recall any physical hazing incidents. I don't know if this is something that gain speed in the 90's going forward. The upper classmen would get in you face and yell at you or PT (physical therapy) you until were utterly exhausted, but no hitting, kicking, or pushing, nothing physical at all. So, I'm extremely shocked that this has become the recent New's highlight in regards to HBCUs. Sad.....
