Battle of Two Mages

A magical battle between two mages in an IFGS event.

This was completely off the cuff, neither staged nor planned for, except that these were two independent NPC's fighting each other. The spells being cast are high level with lots of additional magic items for the ability to "absorb" magical energy. Spell casting between two normal PCs would not happen the way it is presented in this video. So don't get the wrong idea. I happen to know what was going on but to those unfamiliar with IFGS spell casting classes this would seem an unusual way to cast.

All those who think this is how its done in proper battles, you obviously did not read the discription. Think of this as a Cutscene! 2 NPC's fighting, No actual Players. a little event to entertain the people watching, who are actual players, say in between battles or events. From what i can understand, Benny is a shopkeeper, maybe local magic vendor of some kind, and "The Dark One" is a Boss/higher end NPC from somewhere who is looking for a Girl, and also their to collect something.

i like to larp cause when my friend showed me one day he gave me his 2nd sword and we battled out in the garden it was amusing so i started larping in real life games getting some arming and kicking the crap out of people. but how do you expect to attract more people to these type of games if there's no action. ppl want action

We fight with swords as well. This is just one magical combat not an over all view of the game. It's taken out of context of a larger game that was going on where there were indeed lots of swords, pole arms and bows with the action you speak of.

Not all LARPing is about your sword arm, sometimes it's about your role-playing, or spell casting or how you can out wit your enemy. The best games are the ones that include all those aspects, fighting included.

This is a magical combat between two NPCs where each is trying to defeat the other with spells, not swords. So this is not the usual combat with swords. Fantasy worlds contain both and this just shows the other side of it.

Wow never heard of these till I had an idea, well more of a memory when I used to make up roleplays out of games like sword of vermillion, or shining in the darkenss when I was a kid. I was thinking it would be fun to have taken the idea to a park field with cousins, and making up all this stuff to the game. Then I just wondered if there was a theme park or if other people o this earth had something going already. I'm surprised to see it.
