  • This feeder is junk the goats will use it as playground equipment and waste hay in the process.

  • @Rowdysowner I thought it was great!! until I went out there and they were playing "king of the mountain" on it... until it was broke...goats are great!

  • Neat idea brother. My wife and I will be raising goats soon. We just got a handle on chickens, turkeys and bees. I think I'll steal your idea and construct mine out of steel (I love to weld) but I'll add some upright poles from the top of the "V" to keep the goats off it; as well as mount it into a large base.

Thanks again for all your vids, we like how casual yet informative they are. Our channel is quite new with only two videos but feel free to stop by and get updates.

  • @yzerman1997 Yes make sure you put some kind of roofing where they can't get on the feed because they

will just play king of the mountain on it and smash it to the darn ground then ruin the whole thing.........................................just like mine did! lol.....thanks for the comment bro...

  • My goats would use this as a toy. No offense. We are going to use a similiar idea but mount it to the side of their house. Mine would jump in this hay rack, jump over it, knock it down. It would to them, be their new jungle gym.

  • @MrArtathart Yeah..mine played king of the feeder on this all the time! worked ...but not too good....would have worked better with some kind of roof so they could not get

    on it....and for the rain.

  • @Masowai Goats can't eat off the ground because they get worms really easy. the feed also gets wet.

  • Nice bale holder. I'm sorry to be such a city slicker, but..... what would be the problem with just leaving a bale on the ground? Will the bottom start to decompose? Or will it get wet and the goats won't eat it?

  • make it so the bales are raised higher and so that they can't jump in it

  • Thanks for saying that ..I try to be creative. That is a great idea with the plastic barrels.....I have had to worm my goats a couple times now.
