from Current 93's "Black Ships ate the Sky".

And am I born to die?
To lay this body down!
And must my trembling spirit fly
Into a world unknown?
A land of deepest shade,
Unpierced by human thought
The dreary regions of the dead,
Where all things are forgot.
Soon as from earth I go
What will become of me?
Eternal happiness or woe,
Must then my portion be!
Waked by the trumpet sound,
I from my grave shall rise;
And see the Judge with glory crowned,
And see the flaming skies!

  • Isn't that Nietzsche in the picture, or am I mistaken?

  • Nope, he is Will Oldham, the singer. Nietzsche has never been so bald :)

  • Absolutley stunning, It never fails to affect me, this beautiful and poignant song. This has gotta be the best version with Bonnie Prince Billy, I love the way his voice seems to be almost about to crack.

  • Men go bald - it's a sign of masculinity - I don't think it affect song-writing ability (though it could improve it!)...

  • anybody who knows the chords?

  • @imtoosnob he's bald now.

  • best track on Black Ships Ate the Sky by miles, miles and miles and miles

  • real dark, i like it!
