  • sometimes some things on youtube actually improve....

yesterday evening i got too tired and decided to go to bed 45 minutes into this lecture... now when i open the window it resumes playing at that time.

  • No need to dis politicians. The majority of people will forget most the information from any given class once they get into their occupations.

  • its good to learn about the sciences, phycis other subjects, but important is to u derstand yourself.

  • about the experiment around 19:30 :

dont use balls of different sizes, because in each collision between two different sizes one will be knocked up and the other one down, losing their energy into the upper and lower glass surface and making a lot of noise. a group of balls of the same size can get atomized by one fast ball, a group of balls of varying sizes can stick together and dampen the impact with much more friction.

just use 1 size only, will probarbly work much better.

  • This is an introductory lecture, not everyone comes to college knowing physics.

Trust me, there's a lot more to college physics.

  • Fair enough. :P

  • The professor is kind of interesting. I like his way of teaching, it's not boring.

I'm thinking of applying to Berkeley, even though I am not interested into this particular course.

  • Yes, most people will forget this information, but most people won't make decisions which will effect me. It is much more likely that a politician will. And a person can't make good decisions if they don't understand how things work.

"wtf dis college im only in mid school n im learning dis"

Your absolutely right. However, most of these people in this class will NOT be going into science or math based fields. They will go into politics, business, and social sciences. It is sad to say that most of our political leaders probably don't even have the understanding of the physical world presented in this class. And most of these people will probably forget most of this information when they have power.
