As a Green Party member in California I support Cynthia McKinney. But Rosa Clemente is as bad a choice for Greens as Sarah Palin is for Republicans. Rosa is right to criticize "lazy journalism" and Pacifica coverage, but her "lazy English" is just as bad. She is an embarassment as a spokes-person when she mangles the language so much.

Rosa graduated from Cornell University. People's language is often shaped by their cultural milieu. Rosa is very intelligent. Many HipHop artists are great social analysts yet treated as poor communicators/poets because people don't get the culture.

In fact Rosa pairs well with because though different styles. Rosa reaches a base because she talks the language of a community not often heard politically.

Yeah, Sarah Palin is 10 times more unintelligible than Rosa Clemente.

Sarah Palin is a former beauty pageant star and can't even produce her high school diploma.

Rosa Clemente has been a lifelong activist and graduated from BOTH the University of Albany and Cornell University (she was the head of several organizations at those universities)

Are you kidding me? What does it matter that she doesn't speak "fluent english." You can understand what she is saying. Would you be so critical also of JFK. People are a product of their environment. What does that have to do with running a country? Do Americans speak proper english compared to the british?

I think you're right. When I moved to NM from the south a lady told me that when she heard someone who speaks with a southern accent she assumes that they're stupid. I guess I surprised her.

Correct. In fact ALL the Obama votes will be wasted in the "red" states (states that McCain is sure to win). If all those people voting for Obama, voted for McKinney instead it wouldn't have any impact on Obama at all.

If a good portion of the "overage" (votes beyond McCain's total in those states) in "blue" states (states Obama is sure to win) vote for McKinney, Obama would still win ALL the Electoral College votes in those states.

McKinney could easily get 5% and have no negative impact.

5% - at that threshold:

Millions of Dollars are given to the campaign to cover its expenses

Millions of Dollars are given to hold the next convention (which can make the convention visible to the media)

Millions of Dollars are given to the 2012 campaign (making it viable).

The amount of money depends on the exact number of votes but 5% is the trigger. It'll make the Green Party competitive as a National political party in 2012. It means McKinney can start with Millions to run (and WIN) in 2012.

The only time they allow Nader on his to verbally abuse him by calling him a "spoiler", "crazy", call him a drunk, and put him in his place to say that he will never win, even though he is on 45 state ballots.

McKinney isn't even shown at all, but it's coverage that wouldn't help us any way.

Nader/ Gonzalez, McKinney/ Clemente, Ron Paul, Kucinich, Gravel represent the SILENCED MAJORITY of people. It's the media that marginalises them by excluding them or dinimishing them.
