I thought I would show you my new McNally double strumstick. I am almost over the flu but my voice is still a little sparse so I will keep my singing to a minimum... here is some strumstick doodling.
1. Texas Rangers
2. Old Joe Clark
3. Wagoners Lad
4. Buffalo gals
5. Streets of Laredo
6. Lonesome Traveler
7. Shady Grove
8. Roll In My Sweet Baby's Arms
9. Frère Jacques

The dark fret that you see is my doing and not the manufacturer of this double strumstick. That dark fret represents what is known on the mountain dulcimer as the 6 1/2 fret. I maintain the use the 6 1/2 fret because there is lots of mountain dulcimer music out there and it uses the 6 1/2 fret. By doing this I keep the music on the strumstick compatible with that of the mountain dulcimer. I paint that fret (which is called the 7th fret on the strumstick) a dark color so that I always known where it is.

  • First thing that came to mind when I saw this was.... Jimmy Page (as someone else has mentioned already), might you be posting some Zeppelin on the strumstick a la Lewdite in the future?

  • @littledite I tried "Stairway To Heaven" but I just got dazed and confused…

  • salutè!!! - nice - airline security will love you

  • @billkilpatrick The ultimate Weapon of Mass Seduction you might say…

  • Flu nothn'- He opened for the Stones!

  • I really like this idea. I am all the time fiddling with the tuning on my stick dulcimer and having two on one would be handy.

  • Thank you so much for sharing!

    I enjoy your music.

  • Wow!! Way cool! I really enjoyed this a lot!! Great share!!

  • That's a fascinating instrument, Lew. Greetings from Hong Kong.

  • no matter how bad that sounds it looks cool, and to be honest it sounds great man!
