@onceANexile Well once, you certainly are an angry person. The war wasn't phoney, in that it had to be won,and that was't going ot happen w/out US involvement. Being isolationists (the US), FDR needed a reason to get us involved. Japan gave him that reason @ P. Harbor. Did he provoke them? Maybe. Yes, I did serve. 6 yrs. regular, 14 reserve. US Navy. Maybe you should just buzz off w/your, "read a book, be an expert mentality, and work on that anger issue.

You, my friend, have some learning to do.

I would venture to say that you have no experience with carrier landings.

Extremely difficult, and these men may have been returning from combat missions with damage or injury.

Better to do some reading and research before making such statements.
