Matto Himatsuri 2009

Matto Hi Matsuri (fire festival) August 2009. Quite a bit tamer than the same festival I saw 2 years ago. A lot of saftey precautions have been taken. Much safer, but not nearly as exciting. Without the drunk 20 year olds running around amidst the fire, the video wasn't so interesting so I added some music. It's "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash, covered by the Detholz. Watch closely, though, you can still see a few of the young folks trying to run around between the burning bales. The guys wearing red, with the flashing red light sticks are security. Watch as they chase them down and force them back into safety.
