Georgia Wrestling - How Steve O Won the Title pt 2

Again, I believe this was the April 4, 1981 edition of Georgia Championship Wrestling. Steve O and Steve Keirn take on Ole and Gene Anderson. National Champion the Mongolian Stomper's manager Don Carson comes to the ring bringing our Dusty Rhodes. Rhodes was scheduled to face the Stomper later on the card. Carson attacks the American Dream with a 2x4, knocking him out of the title bout. Steve O ends up taking Dusty's place and wins the belt.

Wow, Steve O champion !? The only memory I have of this guy is that he was the referee for the Flair/Magnum match at AWA Superclash 85 lol.

Ol' Archie Gouldie! I was just a kid at the time and he scared me. I was scared that he would piledrive me because on TV he pointed at the camera and said he would do that!

Tommy Rich & the Junkyard Dog over the Freebirds (01) (Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts) > Texas Bullrope Match: Dusty Rhodes over Don Carson / Notes: Eaton substituted for Dick Slater in the match against Olsonoski. Carson managed the Stomper. The Stomper was in Carsons corner during the match against Rhodes. Michael Hayes was in the Freebirds corner during the match against Rich and the Dog.

I remember this! I was 10 and was so damn happy that Steve O beat the Stomper for the title.
