Really stylish design. Well done.

Ill for sure try it out.
Honest'y Ryan thanks for doing what you do. I pretty much got into video media after watching RVD2 and hearing you talk about how professional capabilities are in the hands of everyone now. My first small film is going to be a RVD style one.
Your the bomb.

Nice.. I think it's easier to animate in Flash, but then again i haven't done much animation in After Effects, with the exception of Rotoscoping and some other effects.. hehe.. .Nice Job.

I don't know AE nearly well enough to figure out how you did all this.
-
Jeez how long did it take you?

Ryan could you either tell me, or make a vlog or something explaining how to make these kinds of animation? I Know AE pretty well but the one concept i cant get is making shapes and objects which are then animated.
I end up just using a mask and constantly changing the masks shape to make it "animate" but then i get the mask changing assuming its not a pure color (like if i use a rectangle and a textured mask, its difficult to move, twist, and manipulate the mask without it looking awkward.

Well, build your elements (like in this, tables, chairs, backgrounds) all separately, on their own layers. Even if you do it with masks, then you can animate the *layers* to move how you want. The stick people are more like direct mask animation. I briefly described how, below.

Looks great! Glad you're able to post more of your work online. Are you freelancing for Happy Baby?
jeremiahjw 2 years ago
Yes, Happy Baby Productions is a small company co-founded by Travis Boles. I do freelance motion graphics/VFX work for them when they need it, and when I can.

Nice work Ryan,..puppet tool?
iggy35 2 years ago
Actually no. I ended up animating them as open mask shapes that are Stroked. There are probably better ways, but it worked for me on this project.
