  • @slamshotstudios Yes, actually. "Prospera, Duchess of Milan", in this production. Apparently it works out quite well.

  • Apparently Prospero is a woman. Right...

  • @randomandproudqueen "I'll go on a date with you when Rusell Brand does Shakespeare" - amazing! :P

  • It's actually quite close to the text of the play, preserving all the major scenes and speeches. They added a few unnecessary lines about witches near the beginning. The contempory music worked well with Shakespeare's lyrics; the special effects mainly didn't-- with the exception of the scariest Ariel/Harpy ever. Great acting from Helen Mirren, in showing Prospera's growth as a person of compassion and a fit ruler.

  • when is it in europe???? wanna see it sooo bad! titus was great too!

  • @lebentheater yeaah you are right... no movie has so many nude people as Prospero's books! :D lol

  • I don't watch adverts

  • Before I'd even heard of this, my friend jokingly asked me out; I told him (being the smart-ass-know-all I thought I was) "I'll go on a date with you when Rusell Brand does Shakespeare"

Our "date" was watching this movie, and I had to pay...cheeky sod, but we still laugh about it. This will always be one of my favourite Shakespeare plays, I'm a sucker for fantasy and enchantment. Plus, I'll always have a soft spot for Caliban (as disturbing as he is)

  • hell houds

  • @codmaster791 They changed it for the film.
