Saw a news story where politicians were "amateur" because they couldn't correctly avoid a debate question. This is the core of what's wrong with America. Candidates stay ambiguous. People think they know what a candidate stands for, so its ok when they side step issues. Then, once elected, everyone is shocked when nothing changes.

What do you call the fallacy when you answer the question YOU WANT to answer instead of the one YOU WERE ASKED. Politicians and other debater often use it, to try to avoid dealing with an inconvenient question.Do you know what you call that one?
