Frustrated with iBank? Don't like the current Quicken on your Mac? Adriel Frederick from Intuit talks about and shows us the upcoming new version of Quicken for Mac called Mac Financial Life.

  • LAAAAAAME!! I can't believe there are so many faithful Quicken users who are just waiting and waiting for the mac version. Why?? Besides moneydance, what else do you guys suggest? iBank?

  • I was a beta tester and my beta version expired and cannot download an update.

  • Intuit has now removed the web page for Quicken Financial Life entirely! If you enter the old address for the QFL page, you are taken instead to the Quicken 2007 page. There is no explanation by Intuit, no update, no new projected date, nothing at all! It almost looks like they hope nobody notices that QFL has dropped off the face of the earth. "Lame" is too polite a word to use to describe Intuit, but I don't think YouTube would allow me to use a more appropriate description.

  • The Intuit web site now says "Coming Fall 2009!". This has become a bad joke.

  • Fat chance for a summer release in my opinion. As of mid March 2009, they have a nice looking minimalist shell being used for beta; unfortunately, you can't do much with it -- beta testers are finding the software way too early in development to even really try out. It's like looking at a screen shot -- looks ok, but you can't interact with it.

The beta is a disaster as well -- no focus, no direction and only one dude taking questions with a list of excuses. Really pathetic, and sad.

  • Best thing Intuit can do is sell the rights to a developer who is serious about bringing this to light, and stop supporting this platform -- we're only 10% of the user population, growing at a faster rate than PC users, and have a much higher propensity to use financial planning software than the typical PC user.

Intuit is just confusing the Mac market with their great brand name, but poor product line. I prefer Moneydance -- a good Mac developer with a stable feature rich product.
