  • I dont know what jazz your playing sounds like you stood in a minor, chromatics and what not, but not jazz

  • You're absolutely right, papoodon. All I'm really doing is playing some rudiments that Jazz Manouche players would use to build improvisations. An exercise more than jazz, really. Working my way towards playing jazz and hoping others might enjoy my process. Hope I didn't offend your sensibilities.

  • Interesting playing man. I like your style

  • dude, you are my hero! there are so many videos with standard-major-scale-lalala-folk-music played on hammered dulcimers.. and here you presented the wonderful sound of h.-dulcimer with sophisticated music. you are the best.

  • @papoodon Yes, On other videos he play jazz:]

  • one of the hardest instruments ive ever tried to play. haha had some one in TN try to teach me. too visually complex

  • @Dulcimista It doesn't really matter what scale you are playing. It sounds absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  • he's trying to play it like a cymbalon :D:D

  • amazing. Is this a chromatic model? I'm guessing it must be with those notes. Is it in a standard tunning?

  • Based very loosely on gypsy approach ...

Have you thought of learning the cimbalom ?

It has far greater capabilities than american dulcimer

(especially school of playing !) Nice to see chromatic american dulcimer ... Listen to Toni Iordache for real gypsy dulcimer (Youtube ...) Good luck !

  • So then it's chromatic (¿?), how come you say it isn't chromatic when you can hit all the notes?
