Charl is known as the man who returned fire at the terrorists during the St. James Massacre. He received a citation from General Acker of the South African Police, for his courage under fire, which halted the terrorist attack on the St. James Church, on 25 July 1993. His courageous action that night saved many lives.
Charl is a full-time missionary of Frontline Fellowship, the Director of our Africa Christian Action ministry, the presenter of our weekly radio program "Salt and Light", and the author of: "Shooting Back -- The Right and Duty of Self- Defence".
Since the attack Charl has taken the Gospel to the terrorists in jail and has been a guest speaker at their meetings in Townships.
Blaartoon you are either a Communist; got your head up your backside or have no clue to what Charl does. To assume you know whether he is compassionate or not, proves you have no clue, also he still lives in South Africa. Consider your information discredited!

What a disturbing, twisted view of reality. Charl, I'm glad you left South Africa. You're incapable of empathy for anyone outside your circle.

I met a South African woman at my local shooting range who had a friend in the St. James church on that terrifying day. Thanks be to God and thanks to Charl's aim, her friend emerged unscathed. Charl van Wyk truly is a great man of God.

Very good info regarding the true situation today in South Africa and strategy of the opposing ideology. Gun control is not about guns, it's about control.
