Kiki Sanchez was born and raised in Lima, Peru, where he started playing the piano professionally at the age of 11. In Lima he studied piano with Coco Macedo and Edermi Chavez.

In America he studied with Jim Gasior at MDC, Mike Orta at FIU and David Hammer at FAU. He studied Jazz Theory with Dr. Mike DiLiddo at MDC and Jazz Arranging with Dr. Tim Walters at FAU.

In Miami, Kiki is an active producer, arranger, studio musician and performer.
One of Sanchez' dreams is to share all his years of experience, research and discovery of Latin Music with other musicians. Sanchez, together with the music producer Kimberly Chmura, had the wonderful idea to produce this video that would expose and teach the basics of Latin music to other musicians.

Sanchez' vision is to expand your musical abilities and have a better understanding about how to play several Latin rhythms on the piano. These not only will help you with your piano abilities, but will enrich your musical knowledge as a producer, arranger and educator. In this video Kiki introduces a rhythm from his native Peru called The Peruvian Festejo.

As an educator, Kiki has been working with Dr. Donna Goldstein on the Latin America Live musical journey, teaching the music and the different cultures of Latin America in several public schools and colleges in the South Florida area.

Dreams is the title of his recent production release by Orun Entertainment led by Charles Stewart. You can get it in major music stores. Have a pleasant journey. WWW.KIKISANCHEZ.COM

  • ...that's "running" time.

  • Can anyone tell me what the ruining time of the DVD is? I'm thinking of picking it up but I'd like to know the actual length is (this goes for just the English version).

  • I was thinking something that fits this singer, Son Montuno cubano, Guajira, cha cha cha. Something like in 1:34...4:33 is very nice, something like with a flavor that will launch my dream. Really Ive had this inside for years and cant get it out. One day I sang and someone heard me and said that I could sing :D Well..it was pleasant to hear that. I remember my mother singing (nice angelical voice) when I was little, and I guess something stuck. See what you think about this.

  • Nice! Kiki, Im from Puerto Rico and I have been presented with a once in a million opportunity. Your Jazz background might do the trick. I know this famous salsa singer and one day he told me (surprized the heck out of me!) write me a song... I spoke to him in various ocasions I told him I was thinking of an actual issue and told him the theme. He liked it, its sort of funny but on time. I improvised in front of him and he answered back, I threw some more stuff and we were back and forth.
