Part I shows how to stretch the canvas print onto assembled stretcher bars. Part II shows how to varnish the canvas using Liquitex varnish. See my blog post about this process at: http://wp.me/pN63E-73
Everything about this video tutorial is wrong. The music was nice however - thanks.
Giclées on canvas should be varnished prior to stretching to AVOID scuffing. An unvarnished print is very likely to be damaged handling as much as stretching requires. A foam brush should not be used on a stretched canvas. Spray (1) or roll (2)
After the center of the sides are stapled, the corners should be next - pulled diagonally, so when the canvas relaxes (and it will over time,) they will not sag.
Hi I have a question, do you coating your canvas, because I am confused, people coating before stretching and then I seen you varnish after stretching. Please reply.
