A Leslie RS3L, painted the same way Milwaukee Road did in their later years. (I don't know the history of this horn, however the power chambers and bells were all fairly recent castings.) I grew up in New Mexico, and this horn brings back memories of watching long Santa Fe freights speed through the desert. Test at 100 PSI, with some nice echoes!
A big thank you goes out to my friend Matt Roberts for droving me and all my horn stuff out here.

  • @mafarnz How big is that air tank?

  • @npadul30 The tank used in this video was 7 gallons.

  • Did Union Pacific use this horn too?

  • @Tanvan180 Yes they did, from the early 50's until the early 90's (they also used Prime 920's, which were clones of Leslie's). You can still hear the occasional Leslie/Prime horn on a UP unit, most often an older one.

  • Go to Eds Locomotive horns on you tube. or Diesel air horns inc

  • @Jazzyhorn111 Yep, I'm subscribed to that channel.
