See the transformation from open pipe tracktor to pure musclecar.
Exhaust setup includes JBA short headers, Bassani X-Pipe, and Mac Catback street mufflers on a Saleen supercharged 2007 Mustang GT.

My initial review: From Bassani to Mac mufflers, the cold startup and idle are close to identical. The Mac definitely has slight increase on volume. After the cold startup settles, the Mac purrrs more than the Bassani's. At take off, they become completely distinct from each other. The Mac adds a pulsating mid range pitch versus the Bassani' which gives it the meaner "hear I come" sound. The Bassani's to me sounds cleaner and tighter. It gives you all the low pitch rumble without the mid range pitch, except when you put the pedal to the metal. I prefer the more raw sound from the Mac's than the clean almost European sound of the Bassani's. Both mufflers are good, it all depends on your sound taste. I swear the open pipes sound like a V8 tracktor in a construction area. Too raw for my taste. Maybe okay for a truck, but not a musclecar.

  • Is that an offroad xpipe?

  • @oldawgnewtrikz

Nope. That is a Bassani x-pipe with high flow cats.

  • I remember when I started my car without the mufflers. The hot rod cams I had made the car shake and between the exhaust noise and the pipes bouncing off the axle it wasnt a very good sound.

Not really a fan of open pipes anymore... seems like everyone with a shitty car or truck just pulls the mufflers out to make it sound good.

  • I like it!

  • Love the clamps coming off shortly after start up.

  • it always starts a little high, then settles down after like 10-15 seconds.. its just a warmup thing i think.. my '05 does it too.

  • idle seems a lil hi

  • lol dont blow that kids ears out

  • The Macs sound alright too bud.
