Balaklava, Pearls Before Swine (1968)
"Tom Rapp's Pearls Before Swine were perhaps the greatest band venturing in psychedelic-folk during the 1960s. Thanks for posting Pearls Before Swine songs on the Web. I have been a fan since I heard Tom Rapp's music while working in college radio in the early '70s. I even had the honor to interview Tom at our radio station, then take him out for lunch!
His version of "Suzanne" is killer, like all his work.

The album cover is taken from "The Triumph of Death" an oil painting on panel, painted c. 1562 by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, it depicts the grotesque horrors of war. Tom Rapp wanted to produce a themed anti-war album, and chose the Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaklava in 1854 as an example of the futility of war. The album was dedicated to Private Edward Slovik, the only US soldier executed for desertion in the Second World War. {Wikipedia}
