Extended W-Item Glitch: Morph Method

Can be performed on any item obtainable during a battle.
Ways of obtaining items in battle are Stealing, Morphing, or Killing an enemy that stole the item from you.

There is a way to do this with single enemies, its not a good way, but it works. Just as you morph the single enemy and prior to getting the victory scene, open the Playstation lid. This will prevent the system from processing the victory information without completely freezing the game. During that time you can use this trick to boost the source to 99, then close the lid back up. Warning: This is not good for your console.

If you're ok with modifying your hardware (open the lid) to achieve results you might as well use a GameShark, it's quicker and more potent.

If you don't want to cheat however but feel that you must morph a single enemy you can still delay the victory scene by morphing via final attack while at the same time having other final attacks linked to spells that target you.

Thanks for the clear explaination of this glitch!! I used it to copy luck and speed sources like crazy! If anyone is having a hard time getting an enemy low enough on health to morph without killing by accident demi3 + quadra works very well.

@TrueAce8522 ..another idea, have yuffies conformer and wizard bracelet and ribbon equipped, then have multiple pairs(up to 7) of Sneak Attack (prefearably mastered) + Morph, and Mega All.....all enemies will be morphed automatically.

@SDMFbroly That is incorrect. There is a monster that appears in Mt. Nibel that can be morphed into a power source. I forget the name of it, but its appearance is similar to the same enemy that appears in the Mythril Mines which you can steal a weapon for Tifa. It's a monster that holds a ball and chain melee weapon. Look up AbsoluteSteve's FAQ on GameFAQs for more details.

The only thing is im pretty sure you cant do that with power sources because the mosters that morph into them are on their own (if im wrong let me know because i cant be bothered with morphing tanks)

@robo1687 I feel u man i wasted time morphing enemies till I found out about the w item code and did it it was amazing i now have Cloud 255 dexterity he can dodge a lot more now :)
