Has anyone noticed that over the yeas American Idol has become less free when it comes to religious expression? They no longer sing hymns for the Idol Gives Back episode and i remember this one year when this awesome Afro-American boy (with the cute bowties) talked about his faith, Ryan would cut him off all the time. And he once even asked if he thgt his overt expression of his faith lost him votes! The contestants replied that he had faith, and he believed in God and that's all that matters

I heard they have to re-sing the song on Thursday evening, cause there was some controversy regarding the use of the line "My Jesus, My Savior" and I heard the "My Shepard, My Confort" line and I felt that it was too disrespectful of the "inspirational" night of "Idol Gives Back".
