Amazing, the cat in 1:00 / 1:08 and 1:18 is exactly like my norwegian forestcat!! I've got two of them, love 'm very much. They're such friendly and peaceful creatures, even though they look like wild tigers. Nice video!

The music is very similar to the build-up of "Flying Over Africa" from Out Of Africa, but is in fact a track from his more recent album, The Beyondness of Things. Nice display of cats!

Spectacular cats. The music is "The Day The Earth Fell Silent", track 11 from the John Barry album The Beyondness Of Things and starts at about 0:50 mins.

Check out our book "John Barry - The Man With The Midas Touch"

Hi again, broadsurf,
This music IS from Out of Africa, and it's the scene when Karin Blixen takes a plane ride for the first time and is stunned by the beauty of what she sees from that vantage point (a new-fangled plane ride one). Once again I say, perfect choice of music! Once you get a view of these gorgeous creatures, the emotion is just the same! Well done!

We have a lot of stray cats that have been inbreeding and leaving litters of kittens in our hay loft every year. Most of them are clearly maine coons (as noted by the M above their eyes) but a few have emerged out of our most recent litters that look more like Norwegian forest cats. There isn't an M on their forhead, they have white feet (we named one boots) and they have big poofy white manes on their chests. Is it possible to have these come from a litter of maine coon?

Hi, the "M" does not in fact signify Maine Coon but a tabby cat. The cats with white feet will be tabby and white cats. They are long haired cat by the sound of it (with ruffs like the NFC). But long haired mixed breed cats (moggies) will have ruffs sometimes. In short these are mixed breed cats and some of the genes may be related to the Maine Coon and NFC.

Thanks, that makes sense. Until now I knew nothing of cats, but got interested in what kind we have back home.

We have some that look like 0:44 and one in particular that looks just like 1:01 except that its a kitten and acts all conceited like. I heard that NFC and MC were supposed to be genetically related, is this true? I guess ours must be tabby/MC/NFC moggies.

Thanks so much for the reply. I was hoping you would receive my compliment. I have forwarded this video to many friends. Just so you know. If I had done what you have, I would love that it was being spread around! I'm sure you do! Thanks again!
