1961 Exhibition Game in Wembley - Kerry Vs Down
The English commentator gave his own interpretation of Gaelic Football
"all the aggression of rugger, soccer and prize fighting, but what the rules are, you'd have to ask an irishman....the ball can be kicked, punched, carried and thrown - in fact anything goes. you have to understand the game well to understand why they have an umpire at all"

  • they had no idea of what kind of game it was. But given the time this was played the announcer was a pro-Ireland as he could be.

  • He's a total racist, nothing new.

  • @kerrykop

Quite funny looking back on it

  • "As you may have noticed there is no offside"

That wasn't exactly the first difference in the rules I noticed.
