Looking For America (Lyrics)
written by Jeremy Bussey, Bernie Nelson, Philip Douglas

I'm chasing down a memory
Of the way that things used to be
Kids playing underneath an old street light
Knowing they were safe when they laid down at night
I'm looking for something I ain't seen in a while

I'm looking for a factory
Where a man can feed his family
Not worried about them moving it south
Closing the doors and shutting 'er down tomorrow
I'm looking for America

Chorus:
The land of the free and the home of the brave
Seems like I just woke up one day and it was gone, long gone
But I know in my heart it's still out there
Can somebody please tell me where
I'm looking for, America

I'm searching for an old church steeple
Where inside you'll find people
Who live their lives unashamed
And they ain't afraid to say God's name out loud
Yeah I'm looking for America

Repeat Chorus:

I'm out here looking for the truth
A few folks to wave the red, white and blue
Who still believe freedom isn't free
And I guess it's up to you and me to find it
Yeah we gotta find it
Cause we're looking for

Repeat Chorus:

  • I think a very good but unoticed singer

  • @ArcherGirl2812 Born and raised Valley City, OH.

  • Christ lives inside me... So does America... No politician can take either one from me... Yet both Christ and America may soon be done with politicians... :) :) :)

  • not much to said to u folks but if u wanna be free make sure u folks keep the FEDS in check because if u let them they will take advantage of u...put ur self in the FEDs situation u probably do it too Y is because u can get away by lies n money of course MONEY rule n by that itll keep ur mouth shut..."STUPID FUCK OPEN UR EYES BEFORE U DIE" IMMORTAL TELEGENIC***

  • @ArcherGirl2812 I was born in Ohio and my first memories are of Thompson. I got to visit there in 2001, 40+ years after I left Ohio for Cal. and was amazed at the memories I had cherished of this place were still so accurate because of the lack of change. I want so bad to take my wife and daughter back there so they can see what helped make me who I am to them today

  • @Dkingof97

Actually, you don't even need to go down south. I live in a rural community in Ohio and I'm proud to say that (for the most part) we are patriotic and haven't changed too much.

  • Jesus is jon/jane doe

But hay I can not tell you that it's for you to discover but once you've got it you will remember Reading this:)

Let christ (the truth) be with you!

  • Ummm "Jesus of naz" means what ? Do you know how many jesus's(joshuas) there were in naz at the time? It's a bit like seeing john smith from Birmingham being recorded for having a speeding fine. You seem to be seeing it through " now vision" also if the Romans were so good at keeping records when was this Jesus/jon doe you speak of, born and how much tax did he pay? IT'S A STORY ABOUT THE COMMON PERSON BEING REBORN!

  • Actually the Romans were impeccable record keepers and there is a record of a Jesus of Nazareth being executed. After that is what separates the West from the East. In the West we record events for accountability. The East records its 'history' through poems and songs. There was (and still is) virtually no accountability for officials which explains the utter corruption of Eastern Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa. Even the existing corruption in the West is permitted by the Rule of Law.

  • well it seems now a days the only place you will find america this wa is you go down south to the small towns and away from all this urban nonsense where u got low life gang bangers and drug dealers who make the streets un safe for our kids
