Miranda's husband almost dying, bomb in body cavity which blows up OR floor, meredith drowning and having an after-life experience, ellis dying, izzie gets cancer and almost dies, george gets hit by a bus and dies, shooting occurs killing 11 people and injures derek and alex, meredith loses her baby, richard's wife gets Alzheimer's, henry dies, ambulance smashes into the pit, plane crash which kills lexie.

Plus lets not forget all the divorces, cheating, breakups, people leaving/fired etc...

Am i the only one who thinks Grey's never got bad? I can understand maybe for a moment, but I still think it's one of the best shows currently on TV!!

not true. The opening of the season was months after the crash. There's really no need to do another few episodes on the stages of grief like they did with George in season 6 opener. They dealt with Mark and Lexie's death accordingly with the timeline of the beginning of season 9. I don't expect everyone to be grieving their deaths like it happened yesterday, 8 months AFTER they died, which is the timeline that came up in the show.
