We have 43 libraries and thousands of holds every day, we are moving materials from one library to another as people want them and are then taking the items back to the owning library. It's an interesting job to have.

the books come from other branches or from shipments. there's a lot of holds and transfers between libraries (there's a lot of libraries in the KCLS system)

I'm not sure what this is doing although it sure looks cool? I'm guessing books are in the crates? where did the books come from?
