Nov 2010 Live in Athens - originally recorded April 8, 1957 at Norman Petty's Studios in New Mexico with Buddy , Jerry Allison on drums and Joe B. Mauldin on bass - this was his first Coral release in the US. This predates That'll be the day and because the Diamonds had a #13 hit with it, in fact it was Holly's first hit as a songwriter. His version did not have a significant impact until much later in his career. In fact the Beatles version. On Buddy's version he sang his own harmony.
