Yeah. When I was planning on doing Pokemon Yellow, I was gonna get butterfree anyway, but since Yellow didn't work out, I decided I still wanted it for FireRed. Thing is, there's no really good grass types in this game, aside from Bulbasaur. So Butterfree is gonna count as my as sub grass type, it can learn the grass type TM's and can learn Psychic moves which will be useful later, so Butterfree was the perfect choice.
