Hi Mitchell -

Easy; I have a wireless keyboard I just put in my lap. Being 100% honest, the typing position is * pretty * good. Though, I do have long arms and find my self "scrunching" my sholders up some. So, occasionally, I do end up yanking the laptop out of the docking station and head to the kitchen table to "change things up."

Normal keyboards, with numeric keypads, a a bit to wide for the recliner with arms. So, I use a Kensington SlimBlade Media Notebook...

As long as you have the base mounted in a solid fashion, I don't see why it would not hold a 24" monitor.

How do you type while you are working in your reclining chair. I was thinking of installing 2 Ergotron arms (#1 with a laptop attachment, #2 standard 22Inch montior).

The problem is that my neck gets sore looking right forward at the laptop screen. I really want the screen to sit high so that I am looking up at it while I am reclined.

Any help in this regard would be great.

Is this the LX or the Neo-Flex Extend LCD Arm? It looks like the later.

Unfortunately, it looks like Ergotron dumped it's black version of the LX a while back, and I'm assuming they did the same for the Neo. But 3M has one in black that looks exactly like it, as well as a black version of a different Neo arm. I can't find extensions though for the 3M version or for the black Ergotron versions.

You can cut the top of that vertical post shorter if you are sure you'll never want that height-potential. See my Ergotron demo? We're very much in the same class of liking to work from reclining chairs. The slight tilt of the vertical post seems to be impossible to avoid, as the aluminum base always "creeps", metal-wise, due to the great bending force on the vertical pipe, which increases with monitor arm set-height. Live with it, I guess. It's still a great arm, we agree.
