Over 20 activists gathered outside the Plaza Hotel in a demonstration against City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.

Some of us were there because of Speaker Quinn's use of a $50 million slush fund during a time when we live under constant threat by Mayor Bloomberg, that he is going to lay off teachers and close down fire houses. Others were there, because Speaker Quinn pushed through a controversial extension of term limits, allowing Mayor Bloomberg, herself, and others, to run for a third term in office. Still yet others were there because of Speaker Quinn's complete abdication of full civil rights for LGBT New Yorkers, do-nothing record over hospital closings, horrible animal rights record, and use of city staff for campaign work.

Please join us for a Third Anniversary Protest of the controversial Term Limits Extension at 2 pm on Sunday, October 23, at City Hall : http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=173448992703011

  • @RafaelbySuzannah Under Bloomberg-Quinn, homeless New Yorkers try to collect cans from the Red Carpet of the Plaza Hotel, while hospitals are closed all across the city, while the mayor issues a weekly threat to close down firehouses and layoff teachers, and yet somehow, Bloomberg-Quinn find $50 million a year for Quinn's slush fund, and $600 million for CityTime kickback payments. WHEN are VOTERS going to OPEN their EYES ?

  • The gentleman pushing a cart filled with cans stopping in front entrance of The Plaza to gather bottles and cans right to recycle for money as rich fat cats walk by is priceless. Dinkins sold-out the People most recently support Columbia U. abuse of eminent domain. When he was young he fought C.U. but now he takes big fat pay checks from Columbia U. Thompson like Christine Quinn allowed CityTime to flourish aka Tax Payer’s Titanic but Liu in a short amount of time in comparison shut it down.
