  • This guy, Greg Clarke, certainly misunderstood the whole idea tha Gray was talking about. He just ended up defending the same christian bullshit and, as usual, tried - and failed - to hide his hope behind a concept of "god leading the evolution". In a few words, this Greg Clarke is just assuming that a completely naive utopia is the very truth of our future. Gray is brilliant; but Clarke, just as any other utopist christian, lacks some more reading and history knowledge.

  • well he has actually. whether or not christians seek to create "heaven on earth", all theists look to convert as many people as possible and prepare themselves and society for that change. the action of christians and all other theists undeniably move to an end point that seeks to impact the lives of all.

  • Not at all. Since Christians are not trying to create heaven on earth. You've missed the point completely.

  • He missed the point yes, he also confirmed the point of the book.

  • I'm only adding this to favourites because it introduces the book:)

  • He certainly does. If idealism leads to repression and violence because it partakes of christian eschatology, doesn't that condemn christianity itself even more?

  • this guy missed the point!
