Health Care For America Now Ad: Rick Scott

This is the spot we did for HCAN - Health Care for America Now, the nations largest health care campaign. This new television ad details anti-reform front man Rick Scott's dubious past in the health care industry. The former CEO of Columbia/Hospital Corporation of America was forced to resign in 1997, and Columbia/HCA agreed to pay $1.7 billion in fines and penalties the largest fraud settlement in US history. The hospital corporation pleaded guilty to a litany of criminal and civil charges including lying to the government about how sick patients were so they could collect larger fees.

Now Scott is using his own personal fortune amassed during those years to attack President Obamas health care proposals with false claims and recycled scare tactics. Scott formed a group called Conservatives for Patients Rights and is advertising on national cable outlets like CNN and Fox. While some press have mentioned Scotts past in covering his new multimillion dollar ad push, too many continue to ignore the agenda behind the expenditure.

Accountability means being responsible for one's actions. He demands accountability in government, but denies accountability in the HCA/Columbia Hospital scandal. For some DENIAL is a qualification for political office. So what do we need him for we already have plenty of greedy, self-serving individuals masquerading as public servants. I say do some good with your ill gotten wealth. Help the elderly with health care. Oh, that's right you already did.

How about American citizen push back not republican. I am a union member against this legislation. So they want to get the insurance company out from between my Dr and my care. Well I can CHANGE my insurance company if I do not like the services they provide. How Do I ever get the ObamaCare out of MY health care? You Can't! Once they have their fingers in your life they never get out. How about those Gov run VA hospitals? I know vets that say its the worst health care there is.

He told us on 4/3/2007, over two years ago, what it takes to have the power of the people be greater than the power of the health insurance companies. He told a reporter after the meeting that he must have a mandate from the people. He.recommended at that 4/3/2007 meeting that a thousand to two thousand of us write letters in every U.S. Congressional District.

That means roughly one million letters across the 435 districts. There's a Million Letters for Health Care Campaign for that now.
