Dr. Dog's third and most recent album, Fate, has been spinning constantly at my house. Fate seems to be the effort in which Dr. Dog brings their many influences together into their own true sound. After years as a dutiful support act (opening tours for such heavyweights as My Morning Jacket, The Raconteurs and The Black Keys), slowly building their own loyal following, grinding it out, the Philadelphia psych-pop band set out on their first tour as a headliner this year and absolutely killed it! They have found their footing, come into their own, and are are truly a headliner-worthy band.

Before their sold-out MOKB sponsored show at Radio Radio, the band stopped by our VIBES II performance space to play some selections from the new album. When they saw our open performance space and graffiti mural (or "satanic backdrop" as they refer to it), they immediately began scouring the premises for "set" pieces and props. Ladders, milk crates, mirrors and even shrubbery from outside became part of the show. Much like Dr. Dog's music, our space slowly became a collage of odds and ends that the band blended with and became a part of.

  • @cheifguggletram you'd think so, but I just saw them live last night and man did they kill it! They played all the best cuts off that album and gave it their all. Toby was so INTENSE during The Beach. I would say that seeing them play those old songs live rekindled the spark!

  • pbr niceeee

  • Sweet Joint!! peeeeace out-

  • Dr. Dog, ugly casanova, and modest mouse r my favorite band :)

  • While I love Dr. Dog and their music, every video I've seen of them live they seem to be in a perpetual state of going through the motions. It kinda sucks when you see a band playing songs that got you so excited when you heard them and they seem bored.

  • wanna be hearing this while im plummiting to my death in an air plane.

i also agree with you strikno

  • @strikno Listen to it now, BP oil leak!
