THe third installment of the Media Killings Series of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism tackles the case of Marlene Esperat, the Erin Brockovich of the Philippines. Esperat was a radio and newspaper journalist from Sultan Kudarat who exposed the fertilizer fund scam of 2004. She was shot dead the next year. Her case was the first case where the masterminds were positively identified by the gunmen. Unfortunately, justice still eludes the family of Marlene
