The Freedom of the Heart
They hush up our lives, our bravery was vital but it didn't last long,
Death would have sufficed, but it didn't please me to yield
They may have broken us up, divided us, but my love for you will never drain away, they couldn't take what was left of me, they never took my heart they never took my soul.
Their arrogance was chronical, and as they dragged me with them I thought about you and our life together, love, and for a while I felt the decay.
They may have broken us up, divided us, but my love for you will never drain away, they couldn't take what was left of me, they never took my heart they never took my soul.
This life gives no such gratification, it just eats you up
I want it so much to go home, to be by your side,
I want it so much to grow old and be by your side
