I've got the Samsung R5067 and maybe it varies but looks exactly the same. I DIDN'T HAVE TO REMOVE ANYTHING ON THE SLIDE OUT TRAY EXCEPT FOR THE TWO SCREWS AND TWO WIRES ON THE COLOR WHEEL ITSELF! Just use a short phillips head and it should come right off. Great video though!

@jeffrothegamer I got a used Color wheel for mine for $60 off of ebay. I also have an LED LCD and most of them across the market are plagued with Flashlighting and clouding becuase of the "Edge lit" Technology!?

what was your television doing that made you have to replace the color wheel?

I love the moment of terror when you notice the ribbon without a connecting end.. I guess you hadn't opened the box for the color wheel.. When I first looked at the color wheel itself that ribbon stood out.. I was hope'n it would be as easy as It looked, I was happy when you didn't seem to mention to severe scenarios ..

Guy's why not just get an led tv.The prices are getting cheaper and they are better quality.DLp is high maintenance.Forget all the problems.

@jeffrothegamer Because the color wheel only costs $100 and the repair can be done in about an hour. Going out and buying a new TV when the color wheel goes bad would be like getting a new car when the tires are worn out.

Great vids hex...my hlp4667w went today after 5 yrs. Color wheel already replaced under warranty 1 yr after purchase. Set is making a humming noise as is the symptom on the posts but I also have a black and white picture. I assume that the color wheel is still probably the problem? Can anybody help with that?

@tmacbeth1 My guess is the color wheel again. Mine went out in about 2 years. There really isn't much inside the TV that could hum rather than the colorwheel. There are a couple of fans in there but when I had mine open they didn't strike me as something that would go bad that frequently.

I did every step the same as you , and i put it back the way it was but when i plug in my tv the lamp indicator (wich is on the power button ) it flashes and the tv doesnt turn on .... any suggestions ?

@froyjay11 Did you put the back of the TV back on? There is a switch that needs to be pushed down and the back holds it down. If the back isn't on the TV it won't fire up (unless you find the switch and rig it up). Other than that, look at the owners manual and see what the code is that the power button is giving you (the code is the number of flashes and what parts of the power button are actually flashing). You should also redo each step you probably just missed something small.
