I wasn't born in India, but I comprehend this song perfectly. My ancestors were from Vrindaban and we speak a language similar to Bhojpuri here in the USA.

Sounds Bhojpuri to me.

The cloak that is my appearance is made up of clay. All that I am is merely clay. How long can I last? I am merely clay. Time is a great leveller, it spares no one. Learned Drona, generous Karna Daring Baali, arrogant Ravana Time spares no one Good or Evil Rich or Poor Time spares no one. O my friend! Dont be fooled by the illusion that is this world. Our belief and trust in God alone can set us free! All that I am is merely clay How long can I last?

Am amazingly profound song, beautifully rendered. Two things: Our country abounds with so much depth and beauty, yet we do not take pride and responsibility to bring it out and project it to the world. India is still the GOLDEN BIRD, in terms of the richness of its culture, which cannot be equaled. And KUDOS and KUDOS to Aamir Khan and his entire team of Peepli LIVE for bringing this hidden talent to the fore. JUST SO BEAUTIFUL !!!!!
chola=clothing/cover, maati=clay: chola maati ke = body that is equivalent to clothing of soul is perishable just like clay ... ekhar ka bharosa = no one should believe on it to be immortal... and then rest of the song is gives different example, whether you are scientist, warrior, good or bad human being you will die...
