Released in 2002 on the Alan Merrill solo album Cupid Deranged, the song was written in 1968 by the then Tokyo based American teenager. The song "TNTeenager" became a staple song for his band Vodka Collins in live shows, and was recorded by the band for the 1972 "Tokyo - New York" (EMI) album, but this particular track was never finished. In making his retrospective album Cupid Deranged, Alan Merrill recorded the song with drummer Peter Phipps, and bassist Dave Glover in Portsmouth England. Merrill played all the guitars and sang lead vocal, with Jan Tilley adding the high harmony vocals overdubbed in New York City. This decades old Vodka Collins live repertoire number was released nearly 35 years after it was written, in 2002.

  • I love these cartoons!

  • It's a shamethat this Aleecat band lineup of Merrill, Glover, Phipps and Tilley never toured.

  • NICE RIFF!

  • *Rocks*

  • Rock-n-Roll!

  • Alan Merrill's juke box obssession in this 1968 lyric by far pre-dates his 1975 "I love rock n roll" reference to that record machine.
