In fact iodine does NOT sublime (mp 114C, bp 185C) but it SEEMS to sublime because these points are so close together....
In a test tube you may see droplets of liquid iodine.

We watched this in my high school chem class, CHS FTW!

Those students need to shut up and learn something. What's the teacher to student %? A lot of American classes seem to be getting uncontrollable. We need much smaller class sizes. I have a friend who works as a teacher and students regularly make credible threats of violence toward her and their fellow students. We need more educators or we are just doing crowd control.

Thank you so much for this! In my college chemistry class my professor decided not to do this experiment. I had been looking forward to it... but he said to look for a video on youtube of this experiment and this video was perfect, thank you!
The students had already seen this one and were working in groups. One of my students with a knack for film and editing took one of my higher order thinking challenges to record this.
