Hockey stop is a variation of the snowplow stop. Learn first to perform the snowplow stop with both and then left and right feet. After that you can transition from snowplow stop into hockey stop. Make sure to practice left and right side equally.

  • anyone find that their weaker foot sucks and you cant push out as much as your strong foot? i can only hockey stop to one side and it bugs me so much. Maybe i need to hit the gym ! Brilliant vid

  • @riccho86 basicly the main reason people are having trouble stopping is because they are afraid of falling. since it is such a sudden stop. try not to worry about falling and justturn your body like he does and angle your skates toward yourself just a bit. so you dont fall the other way. and you need to be going at a decent speed for yourself. it is really really hard. i play AA hockey at 16 and i cant do this perfectly yet. good luck!
