Continuing the "Strings" theme, here are a couple of tunes from around the 1930's (the golden age of popular music!).

"More Than You Know" is a song by Vincert Youmans and
"Once in a While" is from the pens of Bud Green and Michael Edwards.

  • Very nicely done!!! I enjoyed your arrangements very much!!!

  • Thanks for your kind comment. My string arrangements are very much influenced by Mantovani's music.

  • I have a Technics EN3 organ. Does it has this kind of sounds too? GN9 looks great.

  • Hi Fariz, Sorry I'm not familiar with the EN3 model but certainly since the 1980's, I think all Technics organs have had good string sounds. The GN9 was top of the range when new in 1992 (US$ 15,000) but now they only make about US$ 1,000 (in the UK)

  • Thanks a lot! To be fair the GN9 really is a synth rather than a "traditonal" organ. The amazing authenticity of its sounds are due to them all being sound captures from real instruments.

  • @Fariz79i to me it sounds kinda...vintage.. you know, lo-fi, lacks bass, some humming can be heard, but it makes a nice atmosphere heard on Jarre's Equinoxe album.. he hadn't used the EN3 though.

  • great organ! I only stick to synths but it sounds very cool indeed!
