  • When someone close dies and you feel pain where in the anatomy of the human body is that pain emanating from? It can feel like it's your heart but reasoning, calm or otherwise, tells us that obviously the heart is just a pump for blood so that can't be right. Is it your nervous system? No because that's just there to carry messages to and from the brain. My money certainly isn't on the big toe. Any clues there?

  • @horatio422006 A by product of stress is cortisol, a hormone that in excess can disrupt the way the body functions - including damage to the heart.

In addition to the body giving itself physical damage in response to psychological events, there are a network of nerves that link the entire body which are all part of the cognitive priocess.

It IS possible to have a 'gut feeling' or 'heart ache' in terms of cognitive messages that are associated with a part of a body.

  • There u go, I answered all ur questions. Now go out there and have fun and stop worrying about death because youre alive youre not dead and your wasting your life one minute at a time by talking about after death topics

  • -There is no soul, only our brain that consists of memories and experiences that shape the person that you are. -As I said, there is no soul. -To protect me from threats that would harm my body -Our brain is like the inside of a clock/watch. Figure the rest out yourself. -None, because there is no soul -No -No -No -No -No -It's not murder, because their brains havent developed conciousness and memories yet. A child is unconciouss and his brain isnt recording, until he is 14 months old
  • Also, why is consciousness a product of the natural world? Wouldn't our dendrites fire just fine without us feeling present in our own bodies? Why is it that only the natural world exists? Look at the floor beneath me! Where is your god? See I am right because I can jump up and land on the ground but I do not even see your God. I say experiment with what Christians call the spirit. Please look up 1 Corinthians 2:14.

  • calmreason - your main problem is that you are trying to be rational with religious people.

  • DO GINGERS HAVE A SOUL???? NO!!!!

    but great points!!! good video!

  • Wow, those are some very well-thought out, intelligent questions. I really like the "...means of attraction or communication..." question; I'd never thought of that before.

I think maybe some of the more abstract interpretations of a soul, like those found in some eastern religions, might be able to slip around most of these, but those hardly ever entail eternal life, like the Buddhist reincarnation analogy of one's life becoming like a dying candle used to light others.

  • @Nomad2243 its a different type of electricity in your computer. It is not a creature. There is something that escpes our body when it dies and it dissapates into the atmosphere not unlike the heat from a match when snuffed out. That is all I know.

  • @NWONoWorldOrderNWO

are you suggesting that my computer has a soul?

That's the most fucking stupid thing I have ever heard in a long time.
