A great knock in crisis by Cairns. A beauty of ODI cricket. Great all-rounder in world cricket.. such a remarkable memory in cricket

Bill Lawry paints a great masterpiece when he's commentating. I remember this series, Australia struggled against New Zealand, New Zealand against South Africa and South Africa against Australia. Happy they're bringing back this series for 2011/12 season.

Cairns, Fleming, Astle, Parore, Harris, Vetori, Bond, Mcmilan so many legends... man what a team it was. Best tht NZ ever had.

Still a better Test allrounder than the likes of Andrew Flintoff imho. Flintoff was a top LOI player but in Tests only peaked for about three years between 2003-06. Cairns despite being arguably an underachiever still performed superbly in Tests from 1999 onwards. Genuinely dangerous counterattacker and fast bowler

Would of gone down as one of the greats if he wasn't injured so often.

this match was rather funny because i remember being at that match when SA batted first Herschelle gibbs got bowled 1st ball of the innings by james franklin. then when NZ came out to bat mark richardson got out to shaun pollock 2nd ball of the innings then later obviously chris cairns hit his unbelievable century.
Exciting things happen when Mr. Bill Lawry's at the mike.

I was at this match, so watching this has brought back some great memories, thank you! This was a fantastic triangular series. I remember that New Zealand kept beating Australia, Australia kept beating South Africa, and South Africa (apart from this match) kept beating New Zealand. I also remember this being the first we saw of Shane Bond and Brendan McCullum, who was a new opener on the block, and I THINK dropped Michael Bevan (as a substitute fielder) in that famous run chase.
