Showcase 2011: Back to Basics

The orchestra elegantly sets the mood. The spotlights beckon you. Flash bulbs light up the red carpet. And the world eagerly awaits your arrival. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Showcase.

Old cinematic Hollywood was all about the character. Actors channeled that inner emotion to capture the audience. And now, as you join us for Showcase 2011, you too will see our students from around the world as leading actors. Prepare to be entertained, empowered ... and moved.

  • The acting in the scene at 3:11 is sooo good! :)

  • 2d lovers.......you can love 3d too....they're not that different, its just a learning curve, like anything else. Animators need to get over this arbitrary barrier. An animator is an animator, we're a brother/sisterhood.

  • @deathtotubez

Traditional animation is not that different from 3D at all. Animation Mentor teaches the same 12 principles of animation that apply to all animation, not just 3D. The only difference is you're posing a character rather than drawing it. You're still animating on 2's or 4's, just like traditional animation.

  • this is great!

  • @artemis662 making 2d thumbnails and 2d animating is very diffrent so i doubt most of them can do 2d

  • 4 dislikes? For what? It's a beautiful student showcase! :)

  • @cartoonmarc actually to make 3d character you first draw him or her in 2d first so yes they do
